We’re getting ready to begin our homeschool year — and yes, there’s plenty of excitement in this house.
Our firstborn is starting Kindergarten, so this year feels more official than our previous homeschool preschool years.
I couldn’t be more thrilled.
Having taught elementary school, I left my job to stay home with our children. When back-to-school displays appear and buses start running their routes, I still get a little nostalgic. I truly miss the classroom at times.
Planning has always been one of my favorite parts of the school year. Maybe it’s a little quirky, but I love organizing schedules, lessons, and supplies.
I was especially eager to plan a genuine kindergarten year this time. As I searched for a printable homeschool planner, I kept returning to a system I used when I was teaching — it just suited me perfectly.
So I recreated that planner with a few updates for our current needs. I considered the information I wanted recorded and built pages for each of those areas. After many hours of tweaking, the printable homeschool planner was finished — exactly how I like it. I’m excited to see how useful it proves throughout the year.
