What Makes These Hawaiian Roll Meatball Sliders Unique
The Sweet and Savory Harmony
Each slider pairs a soft, slightly sweet Hawaiian roll with a savory meatball and gooey mozzarella. A spoonful of marinara inside the roll adds tang and moisture, while the melted cheese ties everything together. The result is a satisfying bite that balances sweet, savory, and cheesy textures.
The Simplicity that Stands Out
This recipe thrives on simplicity: a short list of quality ingredients that work together without fuss. King’s Hawaiian rolls, marinara, mozzarella, Italian seasoning, butter, and meatballs are all you need to create a crowd-pleasing appetizer or casual dinner in under 30 minutes.

Tailoring the Recipe to Suit Your Occasion
For a Party or Potluck: Multiply the quantities and bake the sliders in a larger dish to feed a crowd. They travel well and make a satisfying handheld option for gatherings.
For a Quick Family Dinner: These sliders are a convenient weeknight meal—easy to assemble and quick to bake. Kids and adults appreciate the familiar flavors and cheesy finish.
To Impress Guests: Use homemade meatballs and a slow-simmered marinara to bring richer flavor and a more refined presentation. Top with freshly grated parmesan or a sprinkle of chopped basil before serving.

Ingredients
- 12 ct pkg King’s Hawaiian Rolls
- 1 jar marinara sauce
- 1 pkg frozen meatballs (or homemade)
- 4 Tbsp butter, melted
- Mozzarella cheese, shredded or sliced (enough to top each slider)
- Italian seasoning, to taste
Directions
-
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
-
Place the 12-count Hawaiian rolls in a 9×13-inch baking dish. Use a serrated knife to cut a circle into the top of each roll and hollow out the center to make space for the meatball.
-
Spoon about 1 tablespoon of marinara into each hollowed roll, then place one meatball into each hole.
-
Brush melted butter over the tops and sides of the rolls, letting a little drip into the openings for added richness.
-
Add another tablespoon of marinara over each meatball and sprinkle Italian seasoning across the rolls.
-
Top each roll with mozzarella cheese—shredded or a small slice works well.
-
Bake uncovered for 20 minutes, until sliders are heated through and cheese is melted and bubbly.
-
Use a sharp knife to separate the rolls. Serve warm and enjoy.
