A perfect grazing tray for summer!
Grazing boards are a popular, relaxed way to feed a crowd, and an Heirloom Tomato Grazing Board is an excellent choice for warm-weather gatherings. Bright, juicy heirloom tomatoes in a range of colors, paired with fresh basil and mozzarella pearls, make an attractive, flavorful centerpiece — and it requires no oven time.

How to make an Heirloom Tomato Grazing Board
Begin by choosing a variety of heirloom tomatoes in different colors and sizes. Varieties such as yellow Brandywine, red beefsteak, and Cherokee Purple offer pleasing contrast, and a pint of assorted small tomatoes fills the board. Slice the larger tomatoes into roughly 1/3″ rounds and arrange them by color on a medium to large platter or wooden board. Tuck the smaller tomatoes into the gaps; you can skewer a few on wooden picks for easy serving. Finish by sprinkling coarse salt and freshly ground black pepper over the tomatoes and tearing fresh basil leaves across the board. Add a mound of mozzarella pearls on one side and garnish with extra basil for a simple, elegant presentation.

If you have an abundance of tomatoes from the garden or a recent farmers market haul, this board is an easy way to use them. Slice, arrange, open a bottle of wine, and invite friends or neighbors — it’s a relaxed way to enjoy a late-summer evening.
